Today is Mission Sunday

It is the one day when we are specifically asked to dig into our hearts and minds and assist our Church’s universal mission. Our theme for this years’ Mission Sunday is ‘Every Christian is a Missionary’.  We all have the privilege of sharing God’s love and words with those who have not yet heard Him. Pope Francis is an enthusiastic ‘promoter’ of this theme and is seeking to lead all of us in a joyful expression of our individual and unique missionary charism.

In his message for Mission Sunday the Pope says “As they travel through the streets of the world, the disciples of Jesus need to have a love without limits, the same measure of love that our Lord has for all people. We proclaim the most beautiful and greatest gifts that he has given us: his life and his love”. The Irish missionary disciples need our spiritual and financial help today. We have some 1,200 men and women working in all corners of the world, each playing his or her part on the missionary journey. Your financial help today is crucial to their work.
