150 year Celebrations
The next planning meeting for the celebrations to mark 150 years of worship in St. Joseph’s Church takes place on July 27 at 8 pm. Venue Teach Ui Bhriain. If you would like to help on the evening of August 7, especially with welcoming visitors or serving refreshments, please come to the meeting on July 27.
New publications: A new publication to mark the century and a half of St. Joseph’s is being prepared. Written by Larry Mc Dermott, it will be available during August.
‘The Face of Suffering.’ The Face of Suffering was a short book of reflections on Richard King’s ‘Stations’ in St. Joseph’s first written in 2009. This book has been updated and a limited number will be available in August to coincide with the Church’s celebrations. This year 2016 marks the 65th year of the first blessing and hanging of ‘The Stations’ in St Josephs.
The Parish on DVD. A small group of parishioners are working with Pat Byrne to record the life and history of the Parish on DVD. This is a very exciting project which will be available for viewing later in the year.
